SCHOOL BUS ADVISORY COUNCIL

The school bus advisory council consists of nine members appointed by the governor of Arizona to include a representative from the Department of Public Safety and a representative from the state board of education. The other members represent different school sizes, the Bus Drivers and Instructors, Transportation Administrators and the Private Sector of School Bus Providers. The members shall serve staggered three year terms unless a member vacates the position. Appointment to fill a vacancy resulting other than from expiration of a term is for the unexpired portion of the term only.

The council will advise and assist the Department of Administration in developing the rules required by sections 28-900 and 28-3228. They will also recommend curricula for school bus driver safety and training courses required by section 28-3228. The council will advise and consult with the Department of Public Safety concerning matters related to the certification of school bus drivers and the safety of school buses.

The meetings of the Arizona School Bus Advisory Council are held at the Arizona Peace Officer Standards Training Board Room, 2643 E. University, Phoenix , AZ , generally at 10:00 a.m. The meetings are open to the public. The current members are listed below
